Privacy notice

What we collect

With your consent, Gainful records in-app activity to debug issues and improve the product. This includes:

• Pages you visit and key actions you take in the app.
• Your IP address, used to estimate approximate location (city / region / country).
• Device and browser details (type, OS, browser, screen size, timezone, language).

We also store the data you put into Gainful to make it work - your resume, job searches, applications, and messages. That is separate from the analytics described here.

Application answers you submit. When you use the Apply Companion to fill and submit an employer’s form, we save the answers you submitted so we can pre-fill your future applications with your own prior answers instead of re-asking. This includes any voluntary demographic / EEO responses (gender, race/ethnicity, veteran and disability status) you chose to provide. These reused answers are per-user and private to you - they are never shown to other users, and sensitive values are never included in any cross-user statistics. Company-specific answers (for example “why do you want to work here?”) are deliberately not reused across different employers. You can review, edit, or clear these in Settings, and you can opt out entirely by not submitting through the companion.

Why we collect it

To diagnose problems, understand how the demo is used, and improve it. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who can see it

Analytics and diagnostic data - including IP and location - are visible only to the Gainful operator. They are not shown to other users.

Your choices

Analytics logging only happens if you opt in. You can change your mind at any time in Settings → Privacy. Declining stops new activity logging. To request deletion of data already collected, contact privacy@gainful.work.
